CAMELLIAS Illawarra has announced the 54th Annual Camellia Show will be held on the weekend of July 15 and 16 at the PCYC Hall, Exeter Avenue, North Wollongong.
According to the Associations Secretary, Kevin Reiman, Camellias Illawarra is credited with conducting the larget camellia show in Australia.
Our 54th Show is shaping up to break even our own records, with some 2000 blooms on display, said Kevin Reiman.
Anyone who grows camellias is encouraged to exhibit their blooms at the show and can do so by obtaining a copy of the schedule and conditions of entry by contacting me.
The Show will run from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday July 15 and from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday July 16.
Admission for adults is $3 and children are free.
The Show will be officially opened by renowned author/photographer James Young at 2:30pm on Saturday July 15 and he will be available to sign copies of his latest publications after the opening.
Kevin said that members of Camellias Illawarra will be on hand to offer advice on growing these magnificent drought tolerant blooms.
He said that several cultivars that grow well in this area will also be available.
