Rumours have been circulating for the past few weeks about the Illawarra’s hottest new outdoor music festival, Play Day.
Ahead of an official announcement expected in mid-June, organisers have confirmed the first support act on the bill – Trumpet DJ sensation Timmy Trumpet.
Initially inspired by the Latin house trend, Timmy has stamped his name as one of the Australia’s best DJ sidekicks by playing trumpet – live – over house music.
He has held residencies at top clubs including Home, Tank, Dragonfly and Ruby Rabbit. His reputation for playing along with hit dance music, adding his own creative samples of recognisable songs, has made him a must-have on the festival circuit including Good Vibrations, Fieldayze, Future Music and Park Life.
Timmy has also flexed his international muscle at Ibiza’s Pacha and London’s Ministry of Sound. He has supported acts including Eric Morillo, Sneaky Sound System, The Stafford Brothers and The Potbelleez.
Play Day will come to life at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, on Saturday, November 21, 2009.
It will be an all-ages event, allowing everyone to come and enjoy live music on the lush grass of WIN Stadium.
Tickets will be on sale through Ticketek from Wednesday, July 29.

I love timmy trumpet and I've heard alot of talk about play day. Can't wait to hear the rest of the line up, the promo girls I met at the presets said it's going to be massive!!! How good this has finally come to Wollongong!!
