Timbrell, Lock win gruelling Ocean Series race

AFTER wrapping up the 40-49 years single title the previous race of the Ocean Series, Ian Timbrell teamed up with Michael Lock to win the final race of the series, 20 Beaches.
Confusion at the start of the race leads to many of the paddlers missing the start, including open men’s series winner Tim Jacobs.
After pulling ahead to a handy lead, the pair managed to hold on and win by 30 seconds from Jeremy Cotter.
Also winning their division at 20 Beaches was Robert Barry (12th overall; first 40-49) and Drew Cairncross (open men specification ski). Gary David and Darren Lee won the 40+ double series, Timbrill the 40-49 single while Robert Barry finished third in the same division.
Jeff Banks finished second in the 50-59 years standings and Robert Hodge third.
