Reigning Illawarra player of the year Graeme Stinson put University in control of their clash with Keira heading into day two on Saturday.
The Students will head into day two at 9/159, 98 runs ahead of Keira’s meagre first innings tally of 61.
Stinson led the way for Uni on day one with a priceless 67 as wickets tumbled around him.
However, it was the champion all-rounder’s work with the ball that earned Uni first-day honours.
Stinson snared 7/34 as Keira could post only 61, after being 9/31 at one stage. Scott Tutton bagged 2/10 for University to complete the rout.
Neel Honovar has bagged 3-28 for Keira during University’s batting innings.
Meanwhile, Balgownie will go into day two of their clash with Northern Districts seeking a big lead after securing first innings points on day one.
The Magpies will resume at 5/106, eleven runs ahead of North’s first innings total of 95.
Matt Salakas played a lone hand of 41 for Northern Districts, while Steve Jones bagged 8/32 for Bally.
Josh Lehane then played a handy cameo of 39 for the Magpies while Tim McKenzie has 3/39 for Norths.
At Figtree Oval, a Steve Blissenden century put Wollongong in control of their match against Wests.
Blissenden hammered 103 while Adam Day (42) and Amit Balgi (38) chipped as the Lighthouse Keepers amassed 9/270 (dec.).
Matt Edgar (4/84) toiled hard for Wests with the ball.
Wests will resume at 0/11, 259 runs adrift of first innings points with Nathan Hutt (2) and Nathan Dodd (5) at the crease.
Meanwhile, Dapto will need 100 runs with six wickets in hand to claim first innings points in their clash with Corrimal at Reed Park.
The hosts will resume at 4/41 in reply to Corrimal’s 140 with Chris Georgiou (12) at the crease.
Earlier, Scott Cox bagged 5/30 for Dapto while Graeme Batty scored 53 for Corrimal.
At Helensburgh Oval, Helensburgh face a similar task in their clash with Port Kembla.
The hosts will resume at 3/62, 112 runs shy of Port’s first innings tally of 174, with Andrew Northridge (26) and Matt Curry (11) at the crease.
Shaun Gray has 2/19 for Port Kembla, who could score arguably the biggest upset of the season to date.
They were earlier led by a knock of 75 not out from Dan Lee, while Sam Northridge snared 5-44.
