THE ACADEMY of Cheerleading is preparing for the Australian National Championships at Homebush, starting on Wednesday.

Considering the Academy of Cheerleading was established in only February 2006, they have completed some outstanding achievements.

Their junior (7-14) squad, the Super Divaz, is the reigning NSW Champion in pom routine and finished second in the cheer by just .5 of a point out of 160.

They are looking forward to excelling at nationals and are aiming to be the highest point scorers in NSW for a junior team.

The Academy's Open team, the Super Starz, is made up of athletes from the age of 14 to 24 years.

They are coming off second place in the cheer at their state championships and fifth in the pom routine.

After Nationals, The Academy of Cheerleading will be taking new enrolments for competitive classes as well as the fun classes. In term four enrolments will be taken to form the teams that will compete in state and national titles in 2008 .
