Southern Suns snare NTL title

Representative touch footballer players from Albion Park Touch Association and Wollongong Touch Association represented Southern NSW in the recent 2008 National Touch League held in Coffs Harbour.
Playing for Southern Suns in the Over 45 Division, the players, Adrian Lambert, Derek Roberts and Phil Steep from Albion Park, along with Gary Meta, Dori Meta and Jeff Masters from Wollongong combined with players from other associations in Southern NSW to play through the round games undefeated.
Throughout the competition the Suns scored 41 touchdowns and conceded 17.
Playing the final against Northern NSW Eagles, the Suns gave the Eagles a two-touchdown start before winning the game 6–2.
Current Suns 45’s coach John Clune, has recently relocated to Shellharbour and will join the Albion Park competition this year.
