WARILLA Barrack Point had reason to celebrate at the NSW Age Surf Life Saving Championships held at Cronulla Beach from Friday 23 to 25 February 2007 after taking out the NSW Country Pointscore title.

At the helm was 10-year-old Jack Carberry who grabbed a perfect set of medals after victory in the under 11 Ironman, third in the surf race and silver in the board rescue with club mate Jordan Fowler who also chipped in for an individual medal with bronze in the board race.

The champion country club also enjoyed minor placings to Scott Smith (silver in the under 14 surf race) and bronzed duo of under 13 board paddler Shelby Prior and under 9 surf race third placegetter Emily Rosskelly.

Shellharbour were the only other club from the South Coast branch to medal with Zoe Elkerton taking silver in the under 13 surf race and combining with Karri Ryan for bronze in the board rescue.

Zoe was very unlucky not to medal in the U13 Ironwoman as she was 2nd all the way but was beaten by a wave that took two competitors past her just on the shore in the final leg.

In the U13 Female Surf Race, Zoe was just beaten by Jessica Collins from Redhead.

In the U13 Female Board Rescue Cronulla were first and Shellharbour second with Lennox Head picking up a wave to go past both Cronulla and Shellharbour giving a final result of Lennox Head 1st, Cronulla 2nd, and Shellharbour 3rd.
