ALTHOUGH only a small club of 120 players with only five graded sides, Warilla Junior soccer Club has enjoyed a stellar season.

The clubs U10 side went through this years competition undefeated scoring some 70+ goals in the process, and winning their grand final 2-1 over Unanderra.

The U11 side also went through the regular season undefeated winning their grand final 1-0 over Unanderra. The U10s are coached by James White while U11s are coached by Richard Fernandez and managed by Mark Marusic.

The U12 Division 1 side also had a stellar year finishing second behind Balgownie, and going down in the grand final on penalties after leading 2-1 in extra time. With only 2 min left to play Balgownie scored to set up the penalty shootout which Warilla lost 3-2.

The U12s also won the Jan Collins knockout which was contested with sides from Sydney including Apia Leichardt Champion of Champion winners Queens Park and a host of other quality sides from the Sydney metro area. They also finished runners up in this years gala day which was a tremendous achievement for a side that has only been together for 7 months.

Not to be outdone by their younger counterparts, the U13s also went through the year undefeated, finishing off the season with a 6-0 grand final win over Albion Park, and were semi- finalists in the gala day.

The U12s are coached by Rod Williams and assisted by Paul Franks, and the U13s are coached by Lee Smith and managed by Fred Beichert.

The U14s, coached by Scott Forsyth, narrowly missed out on the top 4 by a couple of points, so all in all a record breaking year for the club which included 4 grand finalists and 3 winners - a first in the history of the club.

Warilla Junior Soccer Club also played host to the Champion

of champions competition 1st round and was widely praised for their efforts in making it a successful day, and the excellent condition of the grounds thanks to Shellhar-bour Council and groundsman Dave White.

The club will be holding end of season presentation on the 1st October from 8.30am till approx 4pm. The club asks that people attend early so that all registered children can be issued with wristbands to ensure they get to participate in all the activities planned on their behalf.
