It’s not too late to get your team together for the Dragon Boat challenge and take on the reigning champions, Southbound Adventure, as they take to the ‘high seas’ or rather, the still lake yet again!

The Dragon Boat Challenge is just one of the events in the 10th annual Shell Cove Shellharbour City Festival of Sport on March 1 and 2.

Entries close soon for individual, organisational or community groups wanting to arrange a team or two for the Dragon Boat Challenge.

The challenge will be held at Skiway Park, Oak Flats on Saturday, March 1.

Twenty people are required per team with a minimum of eight females per team.

The Oak Flats Lions Club will be in attendance manning a fundraising barbeque to benefit the Shellharbour community and a free jumping castle will be on site, plus a coffee cart and Mr Whippy ice-cream.

If walking or running is more your thing, then the Shell Cove Walk or Run for Fun is being held on Sunday, March 2.

This 4.2km event caters for all ages and needs – from those seeking a leisurely stroll to those wanting to take in some more vigorous exercise.

Each participant receives a free drink bottle.

A massage after the event will be available as well as prizes, a barbeque, face painting, a free jumping castle for the children and entertainment.

Proceeds from the Walk or Run for Fun go to the Cancer Council and Shellharbour Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

For registration forms or further information on how to participate in the Shell Cove Shellharbour City Festival of Sport, contact Tourism Shellharbour on 4221 6169.
