With youth, new sponsorship and a committed committee, Shellharbour City Soccer Club is looking for a strong 2008 season.
The average age of the club is 21 and with the pre season complete, the new coaching staff of Louis Carrasco (first grade), Dave Brindell (reserve grade) and Wayne Eagleton (youth grade) are looking for a successful season.
Shellharbour City has retained most of its players from last year’s first and reserve grade teams.
With a crop of new players also in tow, the future looks good.
Shellharbour City has secured a new shirt sponsor – Bark Busters.
They support the club in conjunction with the Lakeview Hotel and Shellharbour Workers Club.
Shellharbour launched its 2008 season with committee, players, coaches and family at Lakeview Hotel.
The committee supports not just the main grades, but the over 35s team and two women’s teams.
The Committee includes Wayne Eagleton (president), Craig Hannan (vice president), Rhonda Hayes (secretary), Joan Hudson (treasurer), Stuart Deighton (register), Belinda Watson (canteen manager), Andrew Day (35s liason), Monique Carrasco (ladies liason) Paul Franks, John Quennell (groundsmen) and Otto Bader (publicity officer).
The first home game for 2008 will start on Saturday at 11.30am.
