Clank gets his own spin-off from the Ratchet and Clank series - time for him to come out of the shadows with a Mission Impossible/Bond themed stealthy style of game. “The eye of Infinity” has been stolen and Ratchet (or what looks like him) has been caught at the scene of the crime. It’s up to the robotic sidekick to investigate and get him off the hook. There are bonus stealth points for sneaking, posing as a statue, hiding behind plants or coming up behind enemies, then pressing a sequence of buttons that come up on the screen, knocking the nuts & bolts out of them. The more nuts and bolts you collect the more collateral Clank has to purchase items and upgrades to the kung fu chip from the vendor, cleverly disguised as a phone booth. There are a handful of inventive weapons that you pick up or purchase from the above-mentioned vendor like the Frisbee circular saw device (called a Tie-a-rang), to a lightning powered thunderstorm umbrella. Clank also gets Jet Boots for jumping that extra long distance, and to avoid laser beam security, he has the trusty ink-shooting pen to blot out the beam without setting off the alarm system. But wait, there’s more - not only do you get to play as Clank or mini-me Clanks, you also get to control Qwark, who along with a biographer sets himself up as the hero.
