Krystal Marsh with the pig she has rescued from the abattoir

ALBION Park High School Y10 Agriculture student, Krystal Marshs pleas for clemency for the life of a pig in the care of students at the school have been answered through the generosity of her teachers and the schools adminstration.

The sow, which was part of the schools agriculture course pig breeding education program was due to shipped off to the abattoirs until Krytal intervened.

Id like to thank my teachers Mrs Brooks and Mr Murray for helping me save the pig, said Krystal.

Now, thanks to the generosity of the school, the pig will go and live at the St Vincent de Paul Societys Jim De Silva Farm in Nowra, which is a retreat for homeless men.

It will become a pet for the men to look after and hopefully help take their minds of some of their other worries, she said.
