New look mall open

THE first stage of the new Dapto Mall was unveiled last week, treating residents to a fresh new shopping experience.

Along with a newly refurbished Woolworths and expanded Coles supermarket, 20 speciality stores were opened bringing exciting new retail opportunities to the area.

Undercover parking facilities and customer amenities were further features of the major redevelopment.

The second phase of the mall will be showcased in late October with a long awaited Big W department store and new food court ready to tempt taste buds with a wide range of food on offer.

Once all stages are finalised, Dapto Mall will be host to over seventy specialty stores ranging from both major and local retailers.

The shops will offer the latest fashions in clothing, footwear, accessories and hairdressing, as well as cafes, music, books, leisure and gifts.

Local residents have previously had to travel into Wollongong or Shellharbour areas for their retail and entertainment needs.

Dapto is one of the region's fasted growing areas and once the expansion is completed, the mall will provide around a thousand new jobs.

The new Dapto Mall has brought much needed community and retail facilities to the area, and according to Centre Manager for Dapto Mall, Mark Hayes, this is truly an exciting time for local residents.

"We're encouraging all Dapto local residents to come down now and check out the fresh new face of shopping that is Dapto Mall," Mr Hayes said.

"You'll love it."

Residents are being given a further treat with a special give away taking place over the next 10 weeks.

Spending $10 or more at Dapto Mall will allow customers to enter a draw to win a Trolley Full of Foodworth $500 each week.

"Further developments are ahead and the best is yet to come," Mr Hayes said.

The mall is at the corner of Princes Highway and Moombara Street, Dapto, and is open seven days and week.
