If you would like to get fit, meet Miss World NSW and raise money for a good cause, get your joggers on for next weekend’s fitness weekend fundraiser.

Miss World NSW, Albion Park’s Katie Richardson, will be holding a fitness weekend to raise money for Ronald McDonald House at Randwick. It will include a gym-a-thon on Saturday, April 12, at Beachhouse Gym in Albion Park, where participants can make a donation to use the exercise equipment, and a five kilometre fun run in Ski Way Park, Lake Illawarra, on Sunday, April 13.

Ms Richardson said she chose to have a fitness weekend to emphasise good health.

“I chose it because it’s something different,” she said. “It’s about celebrating being healthy.”

Ms Richardson said she hoped to see around 300 people at the gym-a-thon on Saturday, and even more at the fun run the following day.

The fun run will have a staggered start to accommodate serious runners through to those who just want to go for a stroll.

You can also wish Ms Richardson luck as she heads to the national finals of the Miss World competition next week.

The gym-a-thon will run from 9am to 2pm with an appearance by Ronald McDonald. Non-members are welcome.

The fun run will go from 8am to 11am and costs $10. Pre-event registration closes on Friday, April 11, and is available from the Beachhouse Gym or Wave FM, online at www.kemblajoggers.org.au or aplac.org.au, or register on the day from 7am for $15.
