The Wollongong Performance Racing team caps off its "?Mad March' this weekend as it heads to Goulburn for Round 2 of the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series and the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.

Already this month the team has raced at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix and team owner/manager Gary Carson made his racing debut at Melbourne last weekend.

"It has been an amazing month I can assure you," Carson said. "Everybody has had to punch above their weight to achieve all that we have in the last few weeks, and so I'm very proud of them. We have a great bunch of people behind the scenes."

After finishing third at the opening round, lead driver Damien White will be looking to continue his good form. A recent test day at Oran Park has given him more confidence as he quickly adapts to the V8 Supercar.

White said, "It's a totally different animal to a V8 ute and a lot more physical. I have been focusing on the training to ensure that when they strap me in the Selectv Commodore that I have the energy to fully focus on my driving rather than worrying about fatigue."

This is the first time he will drive a V8 Supercar around the tight, twisty Goulburn layout, although he has raced it in utes for six years.

"I will go with no expectations, except for knowing there will be some very, very close racing," he said.

As well as racing, White will attend several autograph sessions as well as a tree planting at a Goulburn Primary School on Friday. The tree planting is part of theV8 Racing Green program.

The four-strong ute contingent of WPR will be looking to build on its previous flashes of good form. At recent events at least one of the four has achieved a podium finish, but as driver Colin Corkery points out, it's time for more consistency.

"WPR have given me a ute that is capable of podium results, but I have made a few errors at bad points of the race," he said. "With the effort that's gone in over the last month or so it would be an awesome reward for the team for us to bring home some silverware."
