Let’s not forget

THERE may be none of the original "diggers" left to march in memory of those brave, spirited Aussie and New Zealand larrikin mates that fought and died as Anzacs, but the spirit was alive and well at Warilla on Sunday.
A lone, wooden cross stood, bearing no name, but a wreath decorated with those famous red poppies associated with World War One and a purple ribbon bearing the words&&. "Lest We Forget."
They are gone, but not forgotten.
"The sons and daughters of Anzacs came forward without question," said Warilla Sub Branch President, Keith Clemmet to the gathering.
The supreme sacrifice, one's life, was made in the name of freedom and humanity.
"We nurture the obligation of showing gratitude for the peace we enjoy and the responsibility of ensuring that the freedom and liberty so costly won is not lost by our own indifference," Mr Clemmett said.
