WARILLA Sports trio Nic Maddinson, Adam Zampa and Chris Jarman all won major awards at the South Coast Junior Cricket presentation.
Maddinson was named South Coast Junior Cricketer of the Year after a powerhouse season on the South Coast and on the representative scene.
He and Zampa recently returned from a Cricket NSW High Performance Youth Squad tour of India.
In 2007-08 Maddinson and Zampa both played in the Country under 17s side that defeated their City rivals.
However, Maddinson’s selection for the NSW under 17s gave him the edge in junior cricketer of the year reckoning.
Zampa and Jarman were in the running for the Kristian Carruthers Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the Southern Zone 16s Bradman Cup Player of the Season.
Jarman won the award as the best player in the carnival runners-up.
Zampa snared his major award when he was named South Coast 16s Gold Player Year.
All three players were members of the undefeated Southern Zone 16s Champions, but Zampa got the nod for his performance in the 2007-08 final.
Maddinson completed a big night by winning the South Coast 16As Batting Aggregate and Average.
He scored 532 runs at an average of 177.33 to snare the trophy.
The 2007-08 season completed the trio’s junior career and next season they will focus on senior cricket with the Kookas.
