From the opening song – AC/DC’s Highway To Hell – to the finale when she was dunked in water, P!nk fans certainly got their money’s worth at WIN Entertainment Centre on Saturday night.
With a stage set to a circus-theme and a cast of dancers and acrobats to match, P!nk’s final performance of her Australian tour was more than a concert, it was an event.
And it was more than just a collection of P!nk’s music – she showed her versatility by performing her own hits as well as interpretations of The Divinyls’ I Touch Myself (which gave a whole new concept to a chaise lounge) and even a stunning acoustic version of Led Zeppelin’s Baby I’m Gonna Leave You.
In one of the acoustic songs, P!nk lost track of the lyrics – although perhaps that was deliberate as she quipped, “well at least I’m consistent; I wish more men were like that!”
The aerobatics during Sober left not only P!nk, but the audience breathless - not surprising when you consider the spinning and swinging from the scaffolding.
The kaleidoscope of colour, the costumes, lighting, dancing, aerial antics and music all combined to provide a feast for the senses.
