Ice back on the menu

AFTER a mixed result for the team at Phillip Island, Wollongong Performance Racing is looking forward to round 6 of the Yokohama V8 Ute series at Queensland Raceway.

Reigning Champion Damien Ice White in his Team IMB Ute was back to his best at Phillip Island and is now keen to continue this speed to remainder of the season says Team Manager Gary Carson.

Phillip Island was really an up & down weekend, said Gary.

We were delighted with Damiens Race Win in his Team IMB Ute in Race 2 and to grab the overall 3rd for the round was fantastic.

His performance at Phillip Island puts him up into 4th position in the championship, heading into round 6.

It was a shame that Ashley Cooper had a few problems.

Heres hoping that Queensland will bring good results for both of them.

Damien is currently 90 points behind in the championship, and with 117 points up for grabs for the weekend in Queensland, a good weekend could have him back at the top of the table

I held the lap record for the Utes at Queensland a few years ago and Im looking forward to the Utes return, said Damien.

Hopefully we can continue with the good form from Phillip Island and fight for a higher position on the podium.

After a disappointing round at Phillip Island which saw him slip back into 10th slot on the championship table, Ashley Cooper is looking forward to making amends at Queensland Raceway, and having his Red V /Win TV Ute at the top end of the table.

I qualified really well at Phillip Island and the car showed great speed, said Ashley.

I just had a few errors during the first 2 races which cost me but I felt really good in race 3 so hopefully I can show the same form in Queensland.
