WOLLONGONG'S own V8 Supercar racing team,, Wollongong Performance Racing (WPR), officially announced last week that Selectv has become their major sponsor for their #85 Holden V8 Supercar, to be driven by Damien "?Ice' White in the 2007 series.

Selectv is Australia's newest digital subscription TV service.

Selectv is a great mix of TV channels at an affordable price.

The service currently offers a total of 36 channels, all providing premium content from some of the best Australian and International media companies.

Team Manager Gary Carson says "I can't tell you how excited we are to have a brand like Selectv on board.

We have had good support from the local community and then to have a national company like Selectv on board for the next 2 years is great".

WPR Racing's driver of the #85 WPR Racing V8 Supercar, Damien White is delighted with the Selectv partnership.

"Selectv is a relatively new brand and they have a lot of fresh ideas which is very exciting," Damien said.

They are also a totally new name to V8 Supercars, who want to work hard to develop success on and off the track.

It shows that non-traditional motor sports sponsors are looking at V8 Supercars and importantly WPR Racing as an ideal way to build their brand."

Win Corporation's Executive Chairman Andrew Gordon says "This is a great opportunity to really increase the profile of Selectv and we are looking forward to some good results during the season."

WPR Racing is also very pleased to have some other new commercial partners for the 2007 season.

"We have had some great backing from local businesses like Kara's Smash Repairs, SMS (Sydney Mesh & Steel) Constructions, Harp Hotel, The Hardware Man, Metro Constuctions as well as Heard McEwan Legal and KPMG (nobody will want to crash into the rear of the car with those guys on the back) and we have continued support from IMB and our long serving sponsor Mongrel Boots," said Damien.

After such a positive start to their Supercar program at the end of 2006 where Damien White finished the round in 5th position, WPR say they are looking forward to the first round of the season at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

Under the watchful eye of Race Engineer Des Conway, the team will head to Sydney's Oran Park circuit for a day of testing and will then be concentrating on getting everything ready for the busy year ahead.
