THE National Indigenous 3on3 Basketball and Hip Hop Challenge, otherwise known as Vibe 3on3, is coming to Nowra on the weekend of November 25 and 26.
Vibe 3on3 brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous people for a fun weekend of basketball, dancing and music and encourages sportsmanship, teaches new skills and builds self esteem, as well as promoting reconcilliation at a grass roots level.
Hosted by former Harlem globetrotter Dwayne Cross and Aboriginal basketball star Claude Williams, the action packed weekend features a 3on3 basketball tournament, rapping and break dancing lessons, art workshops, a dance competition and a health expo, all accompanied by a backing track of the latest hip hop music.
The Vibe 3on3 crew also includes break dance champion B Boy 2Ezy, hip hop artist Brothablack and dancers Rachel Kontominas and Medika Thorpe.
Anyone interested in participating in the Vibe 30n3 weekend should be at Nowra High School from 9am on Saturday, November 25 to register in teams of three or four.
Players without a team will be allocated one by the Vibe crew on the day.
Vibe 3on3 is sponsored by the Rio Tinto Aboriginal foundation, the Department of Health and Ageing, through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, the department of communications, Information Technology and the Arts and the alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation.
