The Albion Park Crows Under 9s registered their first win of the season junior AFL season on the weekend accounting for Dapto Eagles in a closely contested affair.

This makes them the first team in the club to register a win after only three rounds and go down in history by doing so.

The boys started of well but didn’t have it all their way with some great tackling from the opposition. The Crows responded well by applying their own pressure, marking and running the ball out of defence and through the centres with excellent handball and teamwork. The boys are really playing well as a team.

There are good signs for this team this year and it is very pleasing to see the boys really enjoying playing AFL.

The Under 11s are starting to work well together and displayed many patches of good teamwork and determination. The Dapto team did not get their own way all day but were able to shake off the Crows and were comfortable winners in the end. As usual there was a good display of form from William Woolfe, Brayden Rogers-Obrien and Aaron Schloeffel.

In perfect conditions at Croom Rd the Under 12s took on neighbouring rivals Shellharbour.

Cale Talut marked strongly and goaled. Other strong performers on the day were Alex McNaughton, Josh Pusser and Mitchell Butfield. In the end it was a first win for the Under 12s Crows who comfortably took the honours.

The Under 13s were unable to continue the winning ways for the Crows on the day with the Figtree Kangaroos winning easily in the end.

Coach Michael Prince lamented lost opportunities upfront when the ball was brought quickly out of defence by Tyler Rainford, John Green and Josh David-Wright.

A big thankyou to Nandos Restuarant is Shellharbour for their donation. The club handed out ‘Foundation Member’ Medallions to all its players at a family function at Nandos and they kindly donated back the proceedings.
