Do you think the Illawarra business community should have been more supportive of the Albion Park QantasLink service, which has just shut down?

ALBION Park White Eagles will be without Osagie Ederaro for Saturday's Illawarra Premier League (IPL) final against Dapto at Wetherall Park.

The Wollongong Wolves-contracted striker scored in the Whites Eagles' 2-nil win over Port Kembla at Balls Paddock but also received a yellow card, his second of the IPL finals.

As a consequence he will not be able to play in the grand final qualifier, but will be eligible to play if the White Eagles make it past Dapto.

Like their previous-week loss to league champions Dandaloo, Port Kembla dominated the opening exchanges.

However, Albion Park 'keeper Mitchell Blowes made five telling saves to keep his side on terms.

Albion Park then scored against the run of play through Cord Tolson in the 27th minute.

Albion Park dominated the balance of the first half and took their one-goal lead to the break.

Port had a gilt-edged chance to equalise midway through the second half but Daniel Aliffi's effort from six metres somehow screwed high and wide with the Albion Park goal begging.

Albion Park then found a second after Aaron O'Brien's delightful crossfield ball found an unmarked Ederaro.

Ederaro's 16-metre strike left Port 'keeper David Chambers with no chance.

Meanwhile, Dandaloo will face Bulli in the other grand final qualifier after the Balls Paddock outfit downed local rivals Tarrawanna 5-3 on penalties after a 1-all draw.

That match will be held at Macedonia Park on Saturday. Both first grade games kick off at 3pm.
