Do you remember when

CLASSIC cars still evoke memories of a different time, when life was not so frenetic and style and grace took precedence over power and performance.
Speed was measured in miles per hour and petrol was sold by the gallon.
Air-conditioning came in the form of opening the quarter vent window and if your battery went flat you simply pulled out the crank handle and turned the motor over yourself, to get re-started.
Prepare to revisit those days this Saturday, January 21 when the Minnamurra Rotary Club hold their annual Classic & Unique Car Show at the sports oval adjacent to the Kiama Leisure Centre.
Event organiser Barry Silburn says they expect to have in excess of 30 gleaming models of yesteryear on display and encourages anyone else who owns a classic or unique vehicle to put it on display for the day and help Rotary raise funds for charity.
The Classic & Unique Car Show is open from 10am to 3pm and admission is by gold coin donation. There will also be a sausage sizzle throughout the day, for those who need food to keep their strength up, or simply cant resist the tempting aromas of a good old barbeque.
If you would like to include your car in the show, contact Barry Silburn on 0439 600 747.
