We are doing it in memory of our friend Debbie, said Year 12 student Sammie Green.

Weve got two teams in the relay made up of both teachers and students.

Well be camping out at Beaton Park and team members will take it in turns to run for the full 24 hours of the relay race.

Today is a gold coin donation day and we got the teachers to dress up in school uniform today to bring the event to the attention of the school community and get their support.

Sammie says they have also received a lot of support from local businesses including Guago Beauty, and Mealine Cosmetics in Wollongong, Centenary Auto Parts, and albion Park Village Meats, both of Albion Park, The Great Outdoors Centre at Warrawong, Little Luxuries Day spa, Surf, Dive & Ski and Greater Union in Shellharbour and the Sanctuary Retreat Day Spa in Kiama.

We are very grateful for all their generous donations and if anyone else wants to pledge a donation, they can call the school on 4257 1744, said Sammie.
