AN UPCOMING motocross event scheduled for Sunday, February 24 can’t come quick enough for Oak Flats rider Gina Cleaver.
Cleaver will contest the Western QBE Moto Mayhem at Oran Park Raceway in Narellan NSW.
She finished 2007 on a high by finishing third in women’s overall class at the Australian Championship.
Cleaver also triumphed in the Iron Woman Series, sealing victory in the final round of Moto Mayhem in Victoria – she is looking to pick up in 2008 where she left off in 2007.
“I had a strong finish to 2007 and now heading into 2008 I would love nothing more than to continue that form,” Cleaver said.
“My aim for this year is to be more consistent and to obviously stand on the podium more often than not and I feel confident that I can achieve those aims and have a stronger 2008.”
Not only is Cleaver targeting podium finishes in 2008, but she can’t wait to mix it up with rivals such as Rebecca Bateman, Rachael Eagle and Sophie Lovett.
In 2008 Cleaver will ride her Yamaha YZF 250cc, which is supported by Rock Star Energy Drink and Macarthur Motorcycles. Visit www.motomayhem.com.au for more information.
