When the lights go on for the final round of the 2007 Yamaha Academy Australian Supercross Championship at Dapto Showgrounds this Saturday night a clash of the Titans will unfold as reigning champion Daniel Reardon, Wollongong's Jay Marmont and Nokia Yamaha's Cheyne Boyd fight for the biggest prize in Australian Supercross.

Reardon, who rides for the Kawasaki factory team has proven to be the fastest on the track with two round wins to his credit, but the quietly spoken Queenslander has had a habit of hitting the dirt and with a narrow seven point lead he will have the pressure of staying fast and upright foremost in his mind.

"The tracks have been awesome this year, big jumps, technical and open which has really suited me and I am sure Dapto will be the same," Reardon said.

"I really need to be on the ball on Saturday night and just do what I do.

"I have a clear mind and my focus on winning the race, obviously if I can do that I will win the championship again " it's that simple," the 20-year-old said.

Marmont sits in second place and needs Reardon to have a bad night and to win himself to have any chance of regaining the crown he last owned in 2004, but with his hometown fans filling the stands the Motorex KTM-backed rider will be definitely in for a good showing.

"It always helps to have home town support and it will be great to have so many friends and family there to support me," Marmont said.

"I have done my homework and I have improved bit by bit each round and definitely feel I have the speed to win on the night.

"I was slightly behind the eight ball coming into the season having just recovered from a broken wrist but I am 100 percent now and looking forward to the challenge."

Opening round winner Cheyne Boyd sits only one point in front of Marmont and after losing the title to Reardon in 2006 by a single point is looking to capitalise on any mistakes by his two nemesis' to take out his first title.

"I was so close last year and have improved again this year," said the Victorian.

"I know I have the speed to win as I did in the first round but I just need everything to go my way on Saturday night to be in the hunt.

"The racing has been fast and wheel to wheel all season and I don_t see it being any different at Dapto so anything can happen - I am still very confident."

Away from the battle on the track the massive Monster truck will keep everyone's attention as will Australian Freestyle stars Cameron Sinclair and Blake Williams who will entertain the crowd with their insane back flips and bag of tricks.

The final round of the Yamaha Academy Australian Supercross Championship will take place at Dapto Showgrounds on Saturday, March 24.

Grandstand tickets are $40 for adults (over 16) and $25 for children. General admission seats are $25 for adults and $15 for children. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are $65 and all tickets can be purchased from Dapto Showground.
