THREE Carmel & Co Gymnastics boys came one step closer to qualifying for State championships at the MAG State qualifier in Newcastle on April 5 and 6.

Samuel Davies performed consistently in the elite level 6 age division finishing second on rings, vault and high bar to finish fourth overall.

In level 7 age, team mate A.J. Lovatt came second on floor and high bar and third on parallel bars and rings. His apparatus performances pushed him to second overall in the rankings.

Level 7 open competitor Ben Alhovirta also did well, finishing first on parallel bars and second on rings.

Carmel & Co’s girls also proved their stuff the following weekend in the WAG State qualifier with some outstanding results.

In Level 7 Senior, Jerrica Lovatt came second on vault and finished ninth overall.

In the women’s elite division, Jasmine Ford finished first overall ain level 8 international.

Her outstanding scores and results of first on vault, second on floor and bars and fourth on beam means she has already qualified for State and National Championships.
