You spoke with a lot of passion on the night - What does it mean to you to make the Team of Steel?

It is nice to get the recognition and enforces the decision I made years ago to return from South Sydney.

What do the Steelers mean to you?

Home really. It is part of history and it is good that they still have an identity in the game which is good for our juniors.

You won Steeler of the year in 1986 was that your best year?

I didnt think I played well at all but I remember being injury free that year and played a full season. I am sure I had better years that were interrupted by injury.

Who did you look up to most in the team?

It was good to see the young guys go through and develop and earn the dollars that come out of super league.

Wish and Mary were great and the fact that Mary didnt want to play for so many years and to go on was great to see.

What are memories playing at Souths?

It was a dream come true. They were my club as a kid and I was a big fan of Ron Coote. To play and just see the players in the flesh was just awesome as I was only 18 at the time.

Funniest moment?

No funny memories but a fond memory was Michael Bolts last game when he kicked a goal from the side line straight between the sticks.

Toughest opponent?

Terry Randall

Albion Park?

I was a Park junior and it is good to see the junior numbers they have now. They have instilled a culture of winning now. I still go to games and coached them for four years back in the early-mid 90s.

I would also like to recognise the guys who went on to represent the Steelers from Albion Park Craig Keen, Nathan Lopez, Aaron Gorrell, Jason Hooper and Ralph Clarke.
