Sarah Thompson of Albion Park is shaving off her locks.
Her brave gesture is to assist the Leukaemia Association’s Worlds Greatest Shave promotion.
Ms Thompson, 27, a beauty therapist at Stockland’s Blooms the Chemist said a recent illness scare with her son motivated her to get involved.
“My son, Lachlan, 4, was admitted to hospital with an unrelated illness last year.
“But while he was in hospital I witnessed what the children with Leukaemia were going through.
“I also saw first hand what their families were dealing with,” Ms Thompson said.
“It made me realise how lucky most people were to have good health.”
Ms Thompson said she wanted to bring to light how many people were affected by Leukaemia.
Ms Thompson’s shave will take place at Stockland’s Blooms on Thursday, March 13, at 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and make a donation.
