A HOST of local primary and high schools were the beneficiaries this week of the generosity of the Oak Flats Lioness Club in their annual donation of books for schools in the Shellharbour City area.

Shellharbour City Mayor, Cr David Hamilton was invited by the Lioness Club to make the presentations which were held in the Councils function room at Lamerton House on Monday, November 13.

Unfortunately on the day, the Mayor was ill, so the presentations were made by Shellharbour council General Manager, Brian Wier

Representatives of Albion Park Primary School, Albion Park High School, Albion Park Rail Primary School, St Josephs High School, St Pauls Primary School, Illawarra Christian School, Balarang Primary School, Mt Terry Primary School, Oak flats High School and Oak flats Primary School were on hand to collect books on behalf of their respective schools.

Each year, the Lioness Club raises funds for the books for schools program through such initiatives as BBQs, coffee nights, trivia nights and of course, their now famous annual duck derby.
