A rising star in the sport of wrestling, Blake Barden trains at the Lake Illawarra PCYC under a coaching staff who helped guide him to further success at the recent Australian School Age Championship staged in Adelaide.
In last weeks publication we incorrectly reported that Blake was unplaced, however we are happy to announce that he in fact won a gold medal in the 13-15 year 57kg weight division, marking his sixth straight Australian title, a remarkable achievement which comes on the back of Blake being NSW state weight for age champion six years running.
Blakes ultimate goal is to represent Australia at the Commonwealth and Olympic games, a goal he already seems to have a tight hold on.
