SOUTH COAST SURF BOATS JOHN MASTERS
SEVENTY crews took competed in round two of the Warilla Bowls South Coast Surf Premiership at Broulee on Saturday.
Conditions were ideal for the big field after a strong southerly change swept through the area the night before competition.
Heavyweights Austinmer Blue returned to the open men’s competition and did not let their club down.
Austinmer lead the pointscore after the three preliminary rounds before dropping the final to Batemans Bay.
The open women’s final was won by Austinmer White, swept by the Austi legend Dennis Patison.
The Reserves Division was won by Corrimal while Austinmer Blue won the under 23 men’s division. The ladies in the under 23 women’s division are improving with each round and all are competitive.
In the final, there was another tight finish with the Helensburgh-Stanwell Park crew winning from Shellharbour and the much-improved Port Kembla.
The under 19 division was won by Mollymook ahead of the boys from Broulee with the new crew from Corrimal a very creditable third.
The next round will be held at Port Kembla on January 12.
