EMMA SPILLETT

SUNDAY is a great day to recharge the batteries what better day to get out of the kitchen and let someone else do the hard work?

That was my inspiration for dining at Oscars at Towradgi Beach Hotel on Sunday evening – and I’m glad I did!

The menu at Oscars is vast and with a range of pizzas, pastas, salads, seafood, steaks and ribs to choose from, it made the dinner decision even harder!

I opted for the Oscars Seafood basket which came with a mix of beer battered flathead fillets, crumbed prawns, salt and pepper squid, calamari rings, chips and salad – all cooked to perfection!

Each bite of the meal was superb – the seafood was fresh and flavoursome and the serving was large enough to satisfy the largest appetite.

The salt and pepper squid deserves special mention – the squid was tender and succulent and the salt and pepper crumb was absolutely delicious.

My dining partner ordered the famous Smokey Hickory Marinated Beef Ribs, served with a mixed salad and steak cut chips and he enjoyed it so much that he made the mistake of offering me some – and I enjoyed it even more!

The ribs were mouth-watering – the meat just fell off the bone and the marinade enhanced the overall taste – definitely worth coming back for.

In summary, a first-class dining experience – the kitchen staff are clearly devoted to serving top-quality meals at affordable prices and this restaurant is proof that pubs can serve superior, modern cuisine that doesn’t break the bank.

Oscars at Towradgi Beach Hotel is the perfect venue for a quiet Sunday dinner, an after-work meal or a function - why not bring a group of friends and try a bit of everything – you won’t be disappointed!
