Super surf camp
WELCOME to 2007 and what a better way to kick off the new year than sending our junior lifesavers along to participate in the Super Surf Camp being held at North Wollongong Beach on January 18 19.
Conducted by XACT coaching and current Australian Surf Life Saving coach Brett Dowker, this will be the fourth year that Super Surf Camps will challenge and develop the skills of junior lifesavers in the Illawarra region. Super Surf Camps prides itself on catering for ages from 7 14 and all ability levels.
Current Australian team member, Bullis Matt Freeman will be one of many elite coaches at the camp. All coaches are qualified and have been involved with the Super Surf Camp program previously.
Dowker said The quality of the coaches ensures the success of the camp. All of the coaches are familiar with the program and have reached success at the highest senior competitive level.
There is still room for participants in the camp which will be held from 8.30am 3.30pm on January 18 19. The cost for the two full days is $120 which includes all professional coaching, a cool SS Camp Tshirt and cap, morning and afternoon teas, giveaway prizes plus entry into the random draw to win a brand new Tip Top Infront fiberglass racing board.

National titles head west
FOR almost 100 years, surf lifesavers have been gathering to test their skills against the surf, the sand, and each other at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships. Its an annual gathering of the movement that lets lifesavers catch up with friends and celebrate another season of keeping the nations beaches safe.
In 2007, the Year of the Surf Lifesaver, this major event will move to Western Australia, where lifesavers will battle it out on Scarborough Beach, after a number of successful years on the Gold Coast, during which the event has grown in stature and significance. Scarborough Beach will be the perfect venue of the 2007 titles and will take the event to the next level. The support of the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia, and the City of Stirling, means the Aussies will be a better experience for competitors, for officials and spectators alike.
Seminars
IN conjunction with Integral Energy, Surf Life Saving Illawarra have scheduled five surf safety seminars for the current season. Finally, dont forget to swim between the red & yellow flags at all times.
