THE students of Albion Park Rail Public School enjoyed their presentation assembly last Wednesday. Ever attentive, the students were clearly excited by the awards clapping loudly for their peers.
Performances were made by year groups with kindergarten treating the audience to a rendition of Jolly Old Saint Nicholas and year one and year two keeping everyone entertained with Santa Claus is Coming and Rock n Roll Reindeer respectively.
School Principal Paul Murray was on hand to address the students and their parents, a large number of who made the effort to see their child/ren on Albion Park Rail Public Schools very special day.
A tight knit school Mr Murray discussed with the audience changes made to the reporting system and what to look out for on report cards as well as delivered a timely safety message, urging people to take particular care over the holidays.
As far as we are concerned you have all achieved this year by just being your best. Well done, Mr Murray told the students.
Awards were presented to each year group as well as a number of library awards.
Also there to enjoy the days activities was Shellharbour Mayor David Hamilton.
Cr Hamilton accepted a number of gifts, donated by students to the Mayors Giving Tree Appeal, which helps the St Vincent De Paul Society make the Christmas of local families easier and brighter.
It makes me very proud to be the mayor of a city like Shellharbour when I come to schools like this. Some kids in the city who would not receive a gift on Christmas will this year because of kids like you, he said to the students.
