IN the late 1970s, Dutch European Championship winning coach Weil Coerver led a revolution in soccer coaching. Studying the greats from Pel? to Franz Beckenbauer, Coerver developed a method for teaching players of all ages and abilities how to replicate the previously 'impossible' moves.
Local youngster Jake Leighton, from the Oak Flats Jnr Football Club is one of a number of local emerging talents taking part in this worldwide football skill program. As a student of the Southern Illawarra Coerver Academy Jake had shown great potential and is the first to agree that the program is a primary contributor to his rapid development. Jakes quick rise up the jnr soccer ranks has left Head Coach Matt Borg very impressed.
This is Jakes very 1st year in the program, and has seen him already playing competition football against the best U/11s in the state, Jake is shaping as one of the stars of the future, said Coach Borg.

What a joke. The program is a waste of money. Better off playing in the park with your mates
