ALBION Park Little Athletics Club completed a successful 2006-07 season with a great result at the State Championships at Homebush.

Eight athletes returned from the championships with a total of 13 medals, while a number of others recorded personal bests in the biggest competition of their young careers.

Tayla King was selected in the NSW team for the National Championships after winning three medals.

Tayla snared gold in the under 13 girls' high jump and triple jump and a third place in the long jump.

Due to this performance, Tayla will compete in Perth on the 22nd April. The club would like to congratulate Tayla on this achievement and wish her all the best at the Nationals.

Luke Watts also shone at the state championships, winning Albion Park's first ever boy's sprint medals.

Luke won the under 10 boys' 70m, 100m and 200m to cap a fine hat-trick.

Rachelle Grozde won gold in the under 12 girls' shot put with a personal best.

Paige Fenech won gold in the under 14 girls' 400m while Riana Drake was second in the 400m and third in the 200m.

Jai Field collected a 3rd in the under 10 boys 70m while Gareth Ryan collected third in the under 14 boys 800m.

Charnai Hutchison was entered in the under 13-15 Athletes with a Disability and won third in the Shot Put.
